According to the World Health Organization, 285 million people all over the world have impaired vision. India has the largest number of them. Most of the tribals and rural people cannot afford to pay for the essential cataract surgeries required to restore clear vision. Maharashtra Seva Samiti Organization (MSSO) supported Sharda Netralay to allow them to offer free high-quality care to these economically under-privileged. Committed medical professionals, dedicated volunteers and generous donors form a “Triveni Sangam”, (holy trinity) in presenting the gift of vision to the poor.
